Finding investors

How the marketplace is ordered, how to narrow it down, and what's on an investor's card.

The ‘Find investment’ tab lists early-stage investors ranked by how well they fit your round, strongest fit first.

  • On ThatRound investors are those who take applications directly on ThatRound.

  • Public Listings investors aren't fully on ThatRound yet. If you click apply, we'll direct you to their own site to apply there

  • Favourites are anyone you've saved with the heart icon

  • Applied are the applications you've submitted

  • Passed are the applications that aren't going ahead this time

How is the list ordered?

By investor fit, highest first. You can also sort by most recent activity or ticket size.

There's more in How investor fit works.

What's on an investor card?

  • Your fit with them

  • Investor type, such as angel network, venture capital or investor syndicate

  • Their fees, or No fees if they don't charge

  • Cheque size

  • The funding stages they back

  • Whether they invest in SEIS or EIS eligible rounds

  • Their rating, if they have reviews yet

  • Their FCA status

The panel on the right explains all of these, and the statuses, under Definitions.

What does the tick on a card mean?

It's their FCA status. Hover over it and you'll see which one.

  • An outlined tick means FCA exempt

  • A filled tick means FCA authorised, or an appointed representative

Not every organisation needs to be authorised, it depends on what they do and who they work with.

If you've got a question about anyone's regulatory status, email [email protected].

Can investors see my pitch page before I apply?

No. Nobody sees your pitch page until you apply to them.

Can I withdraw an application?

Yes, to withdraw your application you can just click ‘Withdraw’ on your application.

When can I contact an investor?

Once they've introduced themselves. Contact stays greyed out until then.
