Managing your startups

What the deal stages mean, who updates them, and what founders can see.

Every startup you've been introduced to sits in My startups, grouped by stage.

What do the stages mean?

  • Introduced: you've been introduced and can message each other

  • Pitching: you're in conversation about the round

  • Due diligence: you're looking at the business in more detail

  • Closing: you're working through the final steps

  • Closed: the deal completed

  • Passed: you've decided not to go ahead

Who updates them?

You do. Nobody else moves a startup through your pipeline, so it stays your read on where things stand.

Does the founder see the stage?

Yes. Founders see where you've put them, so keeping it current saves them chasing you for an update.

If you were working with ThatRound before 17th August 2026

Any deals you already had in progress moved across to My startups with their stages intact, so nothing was lost.
