Your pitch page comes out of one conversation. You do it once, and it works for every investor on ThatRound.
What is the onboarding interview?
You upload your pitch deck, we read it, then we ask about anything it didn't cover. Your answers become your pitch page.
Upload your latest pitch deck
We take around 10 minutes to analyse it, along with what's publicly available about you online. No need to wait on the page
You answer questions on whatever the deck left out
How long does it take?
Around 20 to 30 minutes. If your deck covers everything, you'll have fewer questions.
You can pause and pick it up again whenever suits you.
Why do you need all this information?
Because the matching only works if we know enough about your round.
Every investor on ThatRound has told us what they're looking for, in detail. We compare your round against those criteria to work out how well each investor fits, and we show you the reasoning behind every fit percentage.
Say an investor has a strong preference for backing female founders. If your deck doesn't make that clear, we'd have no way of knowing you're a fit. The interview picks up the things a deck leaves out.
Our AI is informed by the preferences of over 100 investors and grounded in real market data. It's only as good as the context it's given.

What happens when I finish?
We build your pitch page from your answers and your deck, which takes a few minutes. You'll get a chance to read it through and submit it for approval, then we do a final check before it goes live, usually within 48 hours. Once it's approved the marketplace opens up.
If you're an existing customer it's normally quicker than that.
Do I have to do this for every investor?
No, the one interview covers every investor you apply to. You won't be writing a fresh application each time.
Can I resubmit my pitch deck?
It's a one-time upload, so it's worth making sure you're happy with your deck before you start. If you do need to swap it, email [email protected] and we'll look into this for you.
Who can see my interview?
Nobody but you. Your answers help us build your pitch page, and the pitch page is the only thing investors will see. So it's worth being straight with us, including about the parts that aren't finished yet.
And don't worry about how it reads. You don't need to answer with polished copy, rough is fine, and we'll turn it into the finished page.
Why does it ask about things that are already in my deck?
We're checking that what we picked up is right. We also look at what's publicly available about you online and use it to pre-fill answers, so more of the interview is you confirming the information we have rather than typing.
It's also a chance to sort out anything that doesn't line up. If your LinkedIn says 1 to 10 people and your deck says 12, we'll ask which is right. It's just an extra check.
What happens if I don't finish it?
You won't appear in the marketplace until we have everything we need, so it's worth getting to the end. Your progress is saved, and you can pick up where you left off.
