Investor Introductions

Once you’ve engaged partners, they can introduce investors to your funding round. Introduced investors will appear in the My Investors section as Introductions. Your partner will have shared your Pitch Page and pitch deck with them. As this happens, you’ll see the Pitch Views count increasing in the investor dashboard.

As you engage with investors, you can update their status to Committed or Closed to reflect your progress.

Investor Types

ThatRound categorises investors into five types:

  • Business Angels (BA)

  • Venture Capital (VC)

  • Family Offices (FO)

  • Strategic Institutional (SI)

  • Other (OT)

Each partner’s investor network is indicated by icons on their profile. For example, a partner with a BA icon exclusively represents Business Angels. When searching for Partners, you can filter and sort by investor type at the top of the screen to find partners aligned with your funding needs.

Tracking Your Funding Round

As you progress with investors, update their status to:

  • Committed – The investor has expressed strong interest (requires investment amount to be added)

  • Closed – The investment is secured (requires investment amount to be added)

  • Ruled Out – The investor is no longer a prospect

Your dashboard will automatically update to reflect the total Committed and Closed investment.

Important Info - Success Fees: When an investor is marked as Closed, you’ll be notified if any success fees are due to the partner.

Need to adjust your target round size? You can update it anytime in your Pitch Profile, under “Round Details”.

Adding Existing or External Investors

Adding investors you’ve closed externally to ThatRound helps you to maintain an accurate pitch on ThatRound, it also makes managing your round easier by keeping information centralised in one place. You can add investors individually or group them together for collective commitments.

To add an external investor, hit Add Investor and complete the required fields. Partners and investors on ThatRound will not be able to see the details of external investors that you add but the amount Committed and Closed will be reflected on your round progress dashboard.
