The Funding Partner Card

Each partner card displays key details like fees, ratings, and investor types. Clicking on a card opens the full profile on the right-hand side.

Understanding Partner Status

Each partner card includes a status tag, indicating your application stage:

  • Pending – Your application has been submitted and is awaiting a response. The typical response time can be found on the partner profile tab

  • Screening – The partner is evaluating your application. You can now contact them directly

  • Approved – Your application has been accepted by the partner and they are formally ready to engage. Click Engage to formalise the partnership

Partner Types

Each partner specialises in a different type of fundraising, and often focuses on different types of investor for your raise. You can learn more about investor types here. The investor type is visible on the partner card, just below the partner name

  • Online Platforms – Web-based networks providing access to a wide pool of investors

  • Crowdfunding – Platforms enabling startups to raise funds from a broad audience of smaller investors, often including their own supporters

  • Investor Syndicates – Groups of individuals investing collectively in startups

  • Angel Networks – Smaller groups of angel investors pooling resources, often geographically focused

  • Fundraising Services – Professionals offering pitch consulting, investor introductions, and fundraising events

  • Institutional Brokers – Corporate finance specialists handling larger deals with venture capital firms or institutional investors

For a detailed breakdown, check our Partner Type Guide.

Partner Tiers

ThatRound categorises partners into two tiers:

  • Full Partners – Fully integrated, allowing seamless application, engagement, contracts, and payments all within ThatRound

  • Public Listings – Partners that are not yet onboarded but providing valuable insights. You’ll be redirected to their site to engage with them directly

We’re actively working to bring more partners into the Full Partner tier for a smoother experience.

Partner Ratings

Each partner has a rating out of 5, based on verified reviews from startups. You can:

  • View detailed reviews in the partner’s profile

  • Sort and filter by highest-rated partners at the top of the screen

Total Raised

Each partner card shows total funds raised (£ GBP) through ThatRound or verified external sources. A higher amount suggests a strong track record in securing investment.

Partner Fees & Payment Structures

Partner fees are clearly listed on each partner card and within their profile's T&Cs. Typical fee structures include:

  • Upfront Fee – Covers initial costs, often charged by institutional brokers

  • Monthly Retainer – A recurring fee for ongoing fundraising support

  • Success Fee – A percentage of funds raised via the partner’s introductions

Some partners charge a Follow-on Success Fee, applied to subsequent investments from their investor network.

Partner Terms & Conditions (T&Cs)

The T&C tab in each partner's profile outlines key contractual terms, including:

  • Term – Length of engagement

  • Lock-up Period – Time after contract ends where success fees still apply

  • Exclusivity – If a partner is exclusive, you can’t engage others

  • Follow-on Period – Duration for which follow-on success fees apply

These Terms & Conditions are linked to the Partner Contract detailed below, you will be asked to digitally sign this contract to engage a partner.

Contracts & Agreements

Partners on ThatRound use either:

  1. The ThatRound Universal Startup-Partner Contract (for a streamlined experience)

  2. A custom contract, available in their profile

Partners using the Universal Contract are marked with a special icon for easy identification.

Regulatory Information

A green check mark on partner cards indicates FCA (Financial Conduct Authority) authorisation. More details, including FCA registration numbers, are in the T&Cs section of a partner’s profile.

Not all partners require FCA authorisation - it depends on investor types and fundraising activities. Partners who do not require authorisation are marked as “Exempt”.
